Her mother was an accountant while her father was a historian. Anna was raised with her brother Michael, an actor who later became an actor. Anna Kendrick began auditioning for Broadway shows when she was a teen at Deering High School in Portland. When she turned 12, her first role in theater was in the High Society. She was an accomplished young performer , who received many nominations and awards. In 2003, she starred in the musical A Little Night Music. In the same year, she made her debut in film in the film Camp at age fifteen.
